On Monday September the 5th, Mark and I attended a concert by Clare College Choir. Clare being Mark's college when he was in Cambridge, we had already met the choir in a private dinner and concert for the alumni.
Lundi 5 Septembre, Mark et moi avons entendu un concert par le choeur de Clare, le college ou Mark etait lors de ses etude a Cambridge. Nous les avions deja entendus lors d'un diner et concert prive pour les anciens etudiants du college.
On that first concert, Saturday 3 september, the students had just arrived from England, they were jet lag... and did not sing particularly well, let's say they were not that evening up to their reputation. But on Monday they sang beautifully at The City Hall concert Hall. We spent a wonderfull evening thanks to them!
Lors de leur premier concert du Samedi 3 Septembre, les etudiants venaient juste d'arriver d'Angeterre, il etaient en plein decalage horaire... et n'avaient pas tres bien chante, disons qu'ils ne s'etaient pas montres a la hauteur de leur reputation ce soir-la. Par contre, Lundi ils ont chante merveilleusement dans la salle de concert de la Mairie. Nous avons passe grace a eux, une soiree de reve!
On Wednesday we had a lovely dinner for our 34th anniversary. We had dinner at Upper house and the food was delicate, very well presented and absolutely fabulous! Ab-Fab!!!! worth being married 34 years!
Mercredi, nous eumes un charmant diner pour feter notre 34e anniversaire de Mariage. Nous dinames a Upper House et le repas fut delicat, tres joliment presente et absolument fabuleux! Ca valait la peine d'etre marie pendant 34 ans!
On Thursday another delicious dinner at the Jewish Community Center in the Honnor of S Chang. a Chinese Civil servant, passionate by Jewish history in Hong-Kong. He started the Jewish Historical Society and it's library. Now, he is retiring and the Society wanted to thank him. We heard a lots of anectodes on the Old Hong Kong and it's Jewish inhabitants before, and after WWII.
Jeudi, autre delicieux diner au Centre Communautaire Juif en l'honneur de M. S. Chang, un haut fonctionnaire chinois passionne par l'histoire juive de Hong-Kong. Il est maintenant a la retraite et la Societe voulait le remercier de ses bons et loyaux services. Nous entendimes moult anecdotes sur Hong-Kong et ses habitants Juifs avant et apres la seconde guerre mondiale.
On Friday we visited the airport Cargo section with the Royal Gographic Society of HK. Hong-Kong is the biggest cargo airport in the world, it is totally automatized with robots lifting and orientating the goods in the biggest wharehouse in the whole world. We were hosted by Hactl owned by Cathay Pacific and its English CEO greated us and answered the many questions.The visit was fascinating, unfortunately for security reasons, photos were not allowed inside the wharehouse.

Vendredi nous visitames la section fret de l'aeroport de Hong-Kong qui est la plus grande du monde en quantite traitee. Tout est entierement automatise par robots qui transportent montent et descendent les palettes en stockage. C'est le plus grand entrepot du monde. Nous etions accueillis par Hactl qui appartient a Cathay Paciic et dont le President Directeur General Anglais nous accueillit et repondit en personne a nos nombreuses questions. Cette visite fut passionnante, malheureusement pour des raisons de securite, on ne pouvait pas prendre de photos dans l'entrepot.

Hong-Kong is such a big cargo airport because of e-trade.
Hong est une plate-forme cargo aussi importante grace au commerce par internet.

On Saturday, we attended a Cello concert at the City Hall. Beautiful!
Samedi, nous avons entendu un superbe concert de violoncelle a la Mairie. Magnifique!
On Sunday we had guests for lunch.
Dimanche, nous avons recu des invites a dejeuner.
This coming Friday is the Mid-Autumn Festival, or Lantern Festival because people go out to admire the full moon and they carry lovely lanterns, and eat Moon Cakes and give some to family and friends. Unfortunetely, there might be a typhoon or it's tail, on that evening which means lot of wind and heavy rain!
Ce vendredi, c'est le Festival de Mi-Automne, jour ferie, fete des Lanternes car on va admirer la pleine lune a la lumiere de jolies lanternes et on mange des gateaux de lune et on en offre a sa famille et a ses amis. Helas, on attend un typhon pour ce soir-la ou du moins la queue d'un typhon ce qui signifie vent et fortes pluies.
