AUSTRALIAN COCKATOOS / CACATOES AUSTRALIENS

There are many cockatoos in Australia and many of them can  be found in Melbourne. We see almost everyday some Sulphur Crest Cockatoos (which we could also see and hear in Hong-Kong). They are very beautiful but terribly noisy with a painfully screechy voice! How can they be so beautiful to see and horrible to hear?

Il y a beaucoup de cacatoès en Australie et nombre d'entre eux sont visibles à Melbourne. Nous voyons chaque jour des Cacatoès à crête jaune (que nous pouvions aussi admirer à Hong-Kong). Ils sont très beaux mais terriblement bruyants avec une voix désagréable! Comment font-ils pour être aussi beaux et aussi pénibles à entendre?.

Yesterday, in the park near home I saw for the 

first time some parrots looking like Cockatoos without a crest.

Hier, dans le parc près de la maison, j'ai vu pour la première fois des perroquets ressemblant à des cacatoès sans crête.

Their eyes are surrounded by a blue ring, and under the neck they have a red line or a red spot.

Leurs yeux sont cerclés de bleu et ils ont une ligne ou tache rouge sous le cou.

At home this morning we had a Wattlebird (Wattle trees are mimosas and this birds feeds on the fruit or flowers' nectar)

Ce matin à la maison nous avions un Wattlebird (wattle trees sont des mimosas et cet oiseaux se nourrit du nectar des fruits ou fleurs)

It was eating fruit and special powder for nectar eating birds, the only food that pigeons won't eat

Il mangeait des fruits et une poudre spéciale pour les oiseaux mangeant du nectar, la seule nourriture que les pigeons délaissent
